Biometric Usability Research Platform
Title: Biometric Usability Research Platform
Speaker: Ms.Hessah Alotaibi, MSc candidate, Computer Science Department, CCIS, KSU
MSc Supervisors: Prof. Abdulmalik Alsalman and Dr. Areej Al-Wabil
Abstract:.
Ongoing research projects in KSU's Software and Knowledge Engineering Research Group (SKERG) are increasingly using biosensors and eye tracking to measure user experience (UX) and usability of interactive systems. In this seminar, we describe the design and development of a Biometric Usability Research (BUR) platform which integrates streams of sensor-based data and facilitates data management with visual analytics. The contribution of this MSc project is a platform for KSU's College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS) for synchronizing and aggregating sensor readings from all lab resources available for researchers in CCIS, via the SKERG research group, for brain signal processing, skin conductance affective computing sensors, and eye-gaze trackers to measure and evaluate users’ cognitive and affective states in usability research.
