Eyetracking

February 27, 2012 at 12pm in the Theater Hall of Building 3 [EVENTS 2012]
Speaker: Dr. Areej Al-Wabil
Demo: Remya P. George, Sunitha Jeyasekhar, Razia Faiz

Eyetracking research plays a key role in understanding how individuals view and perceive the world around them. The scientific study of human eye movements provides an insight into the cognitive thought processes and has been established in research domains such as developmental psychology, psycholinguistics, reading research and HCI.
More recently, communication systems have been developed by tracking the eye movements of disabled users, thus enabling them to interact with their eyes as an alternative input device. In diagnostic domains, recent advances in eyetracking technologies have motivated researchers in scientific domains to investigate new aspects of human perception, and generated considerable interest in the commercial domain.

In this workshop, we'll examine recent advances in eye tracking technologies and look at innovative methods of applying eye movement analysis in scientific research. We'll also have hands-on demonstrations of the Tobii X120 device and the Tobii Studio Software
Location: Theater Hall in Building #3, Malaz Campus
