The Business Side of Information Technology Research and Practice

Presenter: Sarah Alsammahy, System Analyst, KSAU-HS.

Abstract:  As an information technologist, gathering requirements, building a system, and understanding end-users are our domain of expertise. On the other hand, critiquing products, systems, polices of big IT companies in the market is a main subject in our conversations. Luckily I had the chance to work as Marketing Intern at Microsoft Arabia ™. Seeing the business side of the IT field helped me in gaining experience in many aspects, understanding the impact of business rules / strategies on IT practices and changed the way I think of the design and development of information technologies.
This seminar is for sharing my experience in Microsoft and to see how business can affect individuals involved in the design and development of information technologies.
