Synopsis:

The design of hand-gestures for interactive surfaces varies from system to another, whether touch or touch-less, literature never had consensus on the set of gestures, and since hand-gestures are influenced by culture, The team working on the project "Hand-Gesture Frustration Detection for Interactive Surfaces" which its details were shared with SKERG in 2014, is now investigating the appropriate set of gestures to be implemented in horizontal surfaces for Saudi users.

 

Speaker's Bio:

Arwa Alabdulkarim is a Researcher at the National Center for Electronics and Photonics Technology, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. She has contributed with a number of SKERG activities via Arduino and LaTeX workshops. She lead a group of researchers under the Physical Computing track to develop and participate in Arduino-related projects or activities.
