Knowledge Management and its Applications: Welcome to the KM World!

Synopsis: In this seminar we present the research-led activities outcomes of the PhD students in the Information and Knowledge Management (KM) course taught in the Information System Department.  Knowledge Management is now a crucial issue in many organizations: Knowledge is a major economic challenge for the future. The students worked on a specific topic related to the course.  The students’ research focused on how Knowledge Management impacted and can be used to enhanced one of the selected topics, such as Business Intelligence, Big Data, Social medial, Educational Data Mining, Mobile learning, Data Security and Crowdsourcing.  The seminar start with an overview of the KM, trying to give a clear idea about the KM key issues in different contexts. We see the knowledge management (KM) from several perspectives. Through an individual supervision and weekly, the students have written a research paper that they have submitted to the international conferences.
The first accepted paper is: Amal Al Mana, Nesrine Zemirli. “Knowledge Sharing Through Social Media in Higher Educational Institution of Saudi Arabia” Accepted in ECSM14, the  European Conference on Social Media. 10-11 July 2014, Brighton, United Kingdom.

Dr. Nesrine Zemirli will moderate a session with Information Systems' PhD students.
